Quartz panel (Quartz sheet/window/plate/disk)
Quartz panel is characterized by its transparency to quite wide spectrum, including ultraviolet (UV), visible light, and infrared (IR). Quartz panel is also characterized by its stable endurance in high temperature and chemical challenging environments, with a quite low thermal expansion. Due to these capabilities, quartz panel is a qualified optical material in many demanding applications.
Quartz plank is vertically produced in our factory, subsequently it can be post-processed(cutting, welding, polishing, annealing, etc) into sheet, plate, lens, window, pane, disk, substrate, etc. SiO2 content is above 99.99%, Mons' hardness scale is 7. More than 90% of visible light can be passed. It can endure high temperature (as high as 1100ˇăC) with a low thermal expansion coefficient. Different shapes such as Prism, lens and disk are available.
Quartz has been widely used in illumination, laser, sterilization, lab equipment, insulator, chemical equipment, heater, etc. More details about fused quartz can be found on Wikipedia page.
Properties
1. Endurance of high temperature. Fuse quartz begin to soften at about 1700ˇăC. It can work at 1100ˇăC for a long period while for a short period it can endure 1450ˇăC.
2. Anti chemical erosion. Almost none acid react with quartz, except for HF. Due to the construction of pure SiO2, the anti-acid capability of quartz is 30 times better than ceramics, and 150 times better than stainless steel. Its chemical inertia or stabilization is hardly comparable by any other common material.
3. Low thermal expansion. The thermal expansion coefficient of quartz is so low that it can endure steep temperature change. For example, heat a quartz panel to 1100ˇăC and than immerse it into water at normal temperature, it won't crack!
4. Spectrum transparent. Quartz is transparent to wide spectrum, from IR to UV. More than 90% of visible light energy can pass, and more than 80% of UV can pass.
5. Good insulator. Resistance of quartz is 10000 times of normal glass. Good insulating performance even at high temperature.
